The 2020 ITC Conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences of the University of Luxembourg (FHSE) at Belval Campus.
The University of Luxembourg, founded in 2003, is the only public university of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is a European research university with a distinctly international, multilingual and interdisciplinary character. It is a modern institution with a personal atmosphere, close to European institutions, innovative companies and the financial place.
The University of Luxembourg has already built a reputation as being among the best young universities in the world, ranked 12th in Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018 and placed among the top 250 universities in THE World University Rankings 2018-2019.
The hosting faculty, FHSE, is located on Campus Belval in the South of the Country. Belval is located about 20 km from Luxembourg City, 3 km from Esch-sur-Alzette (the Country’s second largest town) and just 500 m from the French border. The area was once the site of Luxembourg’s biggest iron works. Today, it is one of the largest and most ambitious current urban renewal projects in Europe. Belval is not is not only housing the University of Luxembourg but is also home to numerous other research institutes and start-up companies.
Belval Campus will serve as Conference Venue for the 12th International Test Commission Conference – just steps away from Belval’s landmarks: the two remaining blast furnaces. Belval Campus can also easily reached from Luxembourg City (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and has fast connections to famous attractions across the Grand Duchy.
